There's a brand new way to track advertiser activity on Winmo! We are extremely pleased to debut our new spending and impressions data for Connected TV. Via our new insights, you'll be able to see where, when, and how much your top prospects are spending on CTV, all with market-leading accuracy! Read on to see how it all works and where on Winmo you can access these answers.

How is CTV Data Collected?

CTV advertising intelligence is generated via the most accurate method available: automated content recognition (ACR) technology at a household level.  ACR technology is embedded in streaming apps and SmartTVs and identifies a specific advertisement on an individual television and provides rich detail regarding the context of where the ad is delivered, including the input device (i.e. Roku, AppleTV, etc) and streaming app installed on the TV (i.e YouTube TV, Peacock, WatchFree, etc.). Winmo leverages ACR data spanning 23 million household smart TVs across the United States.

How Broad is Winmo's Coverage?

Initially we'll be providing CTV tracking across over 90 apps/stations! As you'd expect, this figure will continue to grow over time. Be aware, however, the Netflix, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, and Paramount+ are "non-disclosure" apps -- they do not make ACR data available at this time, however spend and impressions on these apps are tallied under "Other" and included in the total summary.

How is Spending Calculated?

Winmo applies an assumed CPM of $21 to our highly accurate impression data in order to show estimated spend amounts. This CPM reflects a blended average and may result in slightly higher or slightly lower spend than actual on the app level, but is the most reliable method to determine spend in the aggregate.

Where Can I Find CTV Spending/Impressions on Winmo?

As with other forms of spending data, Winmo users can locate this intel on profile pages, as well as the Advanced Search. Critically, CTV info can be found on the Brand level on Winmo (i.e. not on Company profiles or the Company Advanced Search).

To see what a specific prospect is doing via CTV, simply go to their Brand profile and scroll down to the spending insights section of the page. Look for the CTV header and you'll be able to see top platforms/apps, a month-by-month breakout, and a total CTV spend aggregate over the past 12 months. You can also use this interface to compare specific platforms agains one another (up to 4 at a time, see the Select Platform dropdown at the top right).

If, on the other hand, you want to build lists of CTV spenders, the Advanced Search by Brand is the answer. From there, choose the CTV Spend & Insights filter.

All you need to do from there is choose the station (or stations) you're targeting, and plug in your spending min/max. The results will then show the corresponding prospects within the range of stations and spending levels you've chosen.
